Although it made for a good story, Adam Levine says he and fellow The Voice judge Christina Aguilera were never in a feud. The Maroon 5 front man recently assured everyone that any rumors of bad blood between him and the “Your Body” singer were completely false.
“The fights that everyone thought we were having were fictional,” Levine said, according to The Huffington Post. “We never hated each other. We never were having some sort of secret battles that everyone thought we were having. There were silly bickering things like a brother and sister would do…it’s not nearly what everybody thought.”
Since they have a brother and sister relationship, Levine not only defended their relationship, but he’s a little protective of the singer. He’s got her back. Aguilera, 31, has recently been criticized for her full figure.
Christina has already personally spoken out about her weight. She says she embraces her body and everything about herself. Though it comes with the territory, Levine says it’s unfair that she is met with the “nasty” comments.
“It's not cool. I've never liked it. I think it's horrible,” he said of the comments about her weight. “People shouldn’t say those kind of things, because, f—k you! Come on guys, grow up…It’s not nice to just have your bread and butter be trashing other people. That’s bullying.”
He further explained to People, "The one thing about the culture right now, celebrity culture particularly, is people feel like they can just say nasty things about other people whether it's Christina or whether it's me. She gets a lot and it pisses me off. Of course I have her back and of course I defend her."
