Beyonce confirms she's dropping out of Clint Eastwood's remake of 'A Star is Born'

Clint Eastwood has been trying to get together a remake of A Star is Born, starring Beyonce, for some time now. But Beyonce herself has just confirmed that she’s no longer attached to the project.

It was simply a matter of incompatible schedules, the new mom explained.

"I was looking forward to the production of A Star Is Born and the opportunity to work with Clint Eastwood," Beyonce told E! News in a statement. "For months we tried to coordinate our schedules to bring this remake to life but it was just not possible. Hopefully in the future we will get a chance to work together."

At the premiere of his latest film Trouble With the Curve, Eastwood explained of the casting process "We've talked to several people, and we probably won't address that one till next year, early next year."

Bradley Cooper is rumored to be in discussions to play the male lead.

Variety reports that the fourth remake will be produced by Jon Peters, Bill Gerber and Basil Iwanyk and Will Fetters is writing the script.

Sources say Eastwood won’t approach anyone about the female lead, although he’s rumored to want Esperanza Spaulding, until they get the male lead figured out.

Besides Cooper, Eastwood is said to be interested in Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Cruise, Christian Bale and Johnny Depp.
