Beyonce could be the halftime performer for Super Bowl XLVII, according to sources close to the show.
An insider familiar with the situation told The AP that the Grammy winner will be the next artist to take on the duties of headlining the halftime show on February 3, 2013.
The show will take place at Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans this year, and the official announcement is said to come this Wednesday.
The source spoke to The AP on anonymity because they weren’t authorized to give out the highly-anticipated information just yet.
This isn’t the first time that the 16-time Grammy winner has been involved with the Super Bowl. Back in 2004, the “Single Ladies” singer, 31, sang the National Anthem at Super Bowl XXXVIII. That particular match-up between New England Patriots and the Carolina Panthers took place at her hometown of Houston, Texas.
Extra notes that last year, Madonna performed during the halftime show for the Super Bowl and she enlisted friends such as Nicki Minaj, Cee Lo Green, LMFAO and M.I.A. to perform with her.
