Brad Pitt’s first ad for Chanel No. 5 has been released, showing a more seductive side of the veteran actor.
Pitt, 48, appears in the ad dressed casually, sporting long hair and a beard. He’s the first male to endorse the fashion house in its history.
Joanna Norman, a fragrance expert for Chanel, said of Pitt fronting the line, "No one, as far as I know, has ever used a male icon to promote a female fragrance. There is a dual element: for women, there's an appreciation that it's something different; for boys, it makes them think, 'that will impress my girlfriend'. It's a brilliant example of a classic rejuvenated via a youthful icon."
“It’s not a journey, every journey ends and we go on,” he says, People reports. “Wherever I go, there you are.”
The ad was directed by Anna Karenina filmmaker Joe Wright in May, and it was shot in London. Wright has worked with other Chanel spokespeople, directing Keira Knightley in her Coco Mademoiselle ads last year.
“The world turns and we turn with it. Plans disappear, dreams take over, but wherever I go, there you are: my luck; my fate; my fortune. Chanel No.5, inevitable,” Pitt says at the end of the ad, The Telegraph reports.
