Carrie Underwood excited about award nominations

Carrie Underwood is country’s “it” girl and she has the nominations to prove it. Underwood is nominated for four awards at the 2012 American Country Awards and two American Music Awards.

The Examiner reports that country music superstar will be up for the following categories: Artist of the Year: Female, Single of the Year: Vocal Collaboration for her duet with Brad Paisley on the song "Remind Me". Also, her smash hit song “Good Girl" earned her two more nominations for Single of the Year: Female and Music Video: Female.

According to the Huffington Post, Underwood is also nominated for an American Music Award for Best Country Album for her latest album Blown Away and Female Artist: Country.

Underwood recently tweeted about her nomination news, “Can't believe I got 2 AMA nominations! Such a happy day! Thanks to my amazing fans!”

Underwood will be going against fellow country superstars Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift, Martina McBride and Sara Evans.

The 2012 American Country Awards will be hosted by Trace Adkins and Kristin Chenoweth. The awards show will take place at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. The live event is set to air on December 10 on FOX.
