‘Community’ stars Joel McHale and Nicole Yvette Brown reveal season four premiere date

By Daniel S Levine,

Community fans can rest easy. We finally know when October 19th will come. Stars Nicole Yvette Brown and Joel McHale have tweeted that NBC has scheduled the cult comedy’s fourth season to premiere in February.

Brown was the first to share the news, notes The Wrap, writing, “Guys, #Community officially has an airdate: Thursday, February 7th at 8pm!” She later added, “February 7th is #October19th! Who knew?! :)”

McHale, who also hosts E!’s The Soup, also confirmed the good news, tweeting, “Since there's no other news today here's some: #Community will premiere Thursday February 7th 8pm. #February7thIsOctober19th.”

Community has taken its share of hits from NBC, which delayed its fourth season and first without creator Dan Harmon as showrunner. It was originally supposed to air on Fridays, beginning Oct. 19, but ten days before the scheduled premiere, NBC suddenly pulled it from the schedule. Then, it passed on it when Animal Practice was cancelled, deciding to put Whitney in the slot instead.

On Oct. 19, the stars appeared in a video that called October 19th just a “state of mind.”

Hopefully, this season at Greendale Community college will be worth the wait. The show also stars Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Danny Glover, Gillian Jacobs and Chevy Chase.

UPDATE: Entertainment Weekly reports that NBC has announced the rest of its midseason schedule. Smash will start on Feb. 5 and the new series Deception will kick off on Jan. 7. 1600 Penn will start on Jan. 10. The Eva Longoria-produced Ready for Love stars Mar. 31.

A new season of The Voice will start on March 25. The Biggest Loser starts on Jan. 6, The Celebrity Apprentice on March 3 and Betty White’s Off Their Rockers on Jan. 8.

Parks & Recreation will also move to Thursdays at 8pm beginning Jan. 17.
