Denise Richards cast in ABC's 'Socio'

Dennis Richards is has been cast in the newest ABC Family pilot, Socio.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Richards joins Kimberly Quinn in the Gavin Polone executive produced film which follows Avan Jogia’s character Danny, who was imprisoned for murdering his aunt at age eleven.

Richards is slated to play Danny’s mom, Karen, who must stand by her son’s side when another student is murdered and Danny becomes the prime suspect. Karen finds it hard to stay strong when her social status begins to deteriorate due to her son’s return and ultimate labeling.

Deadline reports that Quinn is set to play Danny’s friend's mother Tess, who attempts to not label Danny once the rumors surface.

Richards most recently took on a role in ex-husband Charlie Sheen’s FX series Anger Management. Quinn took a guest spot on Up All Night which costars Christina Applegate.

The pilot is set for a 2013 release and thus far Kylie Bunbury (The Sitter) and Maddie Hasson (God Bless America) have signed on as Danny’s friends.
