‘Downton Abbey's’ Joanne Froggatt gets married

By Meaghan Fleming,

Downton Abbey’s Joanne Froggatt wed James Cannon on October 6.

The wedding ceremony was attended by fellow cast members from the hit show according to CTV News. Froggatt’s husband Cannon is an IT director of his own company.

Froggatt told People earlier this year about her struggle to deal with wedding plans and filming: “But this is what you hope for, really – you've just got to take these times and enjoy them and grasp them by the horns and go with it because there will be quiet times again in the future," she says. "But I'm enjoying every minute of it at the moment.”

Froggatt’s newest project is Filth in which she plays a policewoman. The movie also stars James McAvoy (X-Men: First Class) and Jim Broadbent (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince).

The actress plays housemaid Anna Bates in the award-winning show. Bates is always trying to prove that her valet husband John Bates did not commit murder.

Froggatt gives some insight into her character next season, saying: "You do see her grow up that little bit more, and she's a married lady now, she's Mrs. Bates. She moves in to a more senior position in the house and she kind of becomes a woman. And obviously her and Mr. Bates are having their turmoil’s again, so she's fighting to free her man as well."

Season 3 of Downton Abbey will air on January 6, 2013 on PBS.
