Whitney Houston was honored at the We Will Always Love You: A Grammy Salute to Whitney Houston special on Thursday night, which was attended by family members Cissy Houston, her daughter Bobbi Kristina, sister-in-law Pat Houston and big names such as Halle Berry, Jennifer Hudson, Britney Spears and more.
Halle Berry introduced the event, saying “She inspired a generation of little girls and women to believe in their own dream and to know that they had within themselves the greatest gift of all. I was one of those little girls who then became a woman who never ever, ever, stopped loving Whitney Houston.”
Former American Idol contestant, Jennfier Hudson, who performed a tribute to Houston at the Grammys this year as well, sang hits like "I'm Every Woman," "How Will I Know" and "I Wanna Dance With Somebody,” Reuters reports.
User also sang, choosing to perform "I Believe In You And Me,” noting that Houston had "one of the greatest voices we have heard in this lifetime. I will never forget her."
Cece Winans and Yolanda Adams closed out the show and sang "Count On Me.”
USA Today reports that Spears talked about Houston’s influence on her career, saying her song “I Have Nothing” was a big part of her early years.
We Will Always Love You: A Grammy Salute to Whitney Houston will air on Nov. 16 at 10pm.
