Even though the video footage of Nicki Minaj cussing out Mariah Carey may look bad, American Idol producers are assuring viewers that it’s not as bad as one may think.
E! News reports that producers for the show say the new judging panel is just what the show has been needing. “This is one of the best, most passionate, dynamic and invested judging panels we’ve ever had. We love and support all of the judges and the fantastic work they are doing, and we can’t imagine a better group to find the next American Idol.”
The producer went on to say, “Despite all the accusations and media speculation – much of which is inaccurate – production is going extremely well today and the judges are focused on finding the best talent here in Baton Rouge.”
According to MTV News, Minaj was set off during Idol auditions Thursday, prompting the singer to blast Mariah Carey.
In video footage, you can hear the “Starships” singer yelling, “I told them I’m not f—kin’ putting up with her f—king highness over there. Figure it the f—k out. Figure it out.” Rumors then began circulating that after Minaj walked off set she threatened to shoot Carey.
But Minaj took to Twitter writing, “LOL @ the struggle. Not even the producers believed u. Say no to violence barbz. # struggle face. I don’t call tmz n Barbara Walters cuz I stand on my own two feet. Never needed an army. God is good. Insecurity is as cruel as the grave.”
