It’s pretty hard to beat Jennifer Lawrence’s current streak of success. After scoring an Oscar nomination for 2010’s Winter’s Bone, she become a major star with The Hunger Games and X-Men: First Class and stars in the acclaimed Silver Linings Playbook. Her next gig honors her sense of style, becoming the new face of Miss Dior.
Dior announced that Lawrence will be the face of this spring’s Miss Dior bag.
“Like everyone else, I first discovered Jennifer Lawrence in the roles she played in action movies," Raf Simons, creative director of woman's wear for Christian Dior, said in a statement. "I was, of course, struck by her incredible on-screen presence in these blockbuster films, but also impressed by her powerful interpretations of subtler, more rounded characters. Her youth and her classic beauty, but also her force of character and the complexity she's capable of embodying at such a young age, are, for me, both unique and very moving."
According to E! News, the marketing campaign will begin in March 2013.
While it marks the first time that Lawrence has worked with a luxury brand, she is no stranger to Dior. She recently wore a Dior dress at the Toronto International Film Festival, where Silver Linings Playbook won the top audience award.
Past celebrities to work with Dior include Mila Kunis and Marion Cotillard.
In addition to The Hunger Games and Silver Linings Playbook, Lawrence starred in the horror film House at the End of the Street this year. She is currently working on The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, which will be released on Nov. 22, 2013.
