Jessica Biel was non-traditional on her wedding day in Italy on October 19. The actress opted to wear a pink wedding dress, rather than white.
The Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown was custom designed for Biel’s big day. According to People Magazine, the light pink dress was a strapless silk mousseline and silk organza creation which featured a light-pink floral motif. Her veil was adorned with pearls from her grandmother’s wedding tiara.
She had not one, but two dresses. For the reception she changed into a strapless silk and lace gown. The second dress was also designed by Giambattista Valli.
The actress’ pink wedding dress has gotten mixed reactions, but the only opinions that really matter are her husband, Justin Timberlake’s opinion and her own. They both loved it.
Timberlake, 31, thought his new bride looked beautiful in the dress, he told People it was "the most beautiful thing I have ever seen."
Biel admitted that the dress wasn’t completely her style, but she’ll look back on it as a special dress.
“I actually surprised myself when I chose my dress,” Biel said. “It’s a style I will only ever wear that one day.”
She added that she picked it to fit the romantic occasion. She said all she thought about for her dress was “romance, romance, romance.” She found that her dress was “whimsical and dramatic.”
Biel’s wish for romance on her big day definitely came true, especially during the ceremony where her husband serenaded her as she walked down the aisle. He sang an original song he wrote for her.
"That definitely started the tears," said Biel. "Not just for me, either. For pretty much everyone who was there!"
Justin explained of his decision to perform during the ceremony, "I figured if there was something I was going to be able to offer, it would be to sing her down the aisle. Grown men were weeping. Hopefully it's because I didn't sound bad."
After their extravagant “I do”s, the Timberlakes are just enjoying married life. Jessica loves the changes that come with marriage, even the name changes, as she is taking her husband's last name.
"Yes, I'm changing my name," Biel told People Magazine. "My professional name will still be the same, but for life, yes, I think it sounds great. I think I really won the jackpot of names."
So, big romantic wedding in Italy, a much talked about wedding dress, new husband, and a new “jackpot” last name, Jessica Biel has it all.
