Katee Sackhoff added to female ‘Expendables’

By Meaghan Fleming,

Katee Sackhoff is officially part of the untitled female The Expendables movie.

Sackhoff is known for her compelling portrayal of Kara 'Starbuck' Thrace, a pilot on Battlestar Galactica.

Cinema Blend reports producer Adi Shankar (The Grey) said of the casting: "If you spend five minutes with Katee it becomes blatantly obvious that she would own[sic] most male action stars."

Sackhoff is working on another action movie at the moment. The actress is playing a mercenary in the untitled Chronicles of Riddick sequel.

Shankar is producing and financing the film. Dutch Southern will be writing the screenplay. So far, no director has been announced.

As we previously reported, ex-MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) fighter Gina Carano (Haywire) was the first actress to sign on for the film. Shankar reportedly said he could not see the movie without Carano.

There is not a lot of information available about the movie so far. It is expected to feature an all-female action cast.

There are reportedly various actresses who are known in the action genre thinking about joining the movie.
