Saved by the Bell actress Lark Voorhies's mother has come forward to state that her daughter, who played Lisa Turtle in the 1990s hit show, is suffering from bipolar disorder.
According to People, in a series of interviews, the 38-year-old actress would stop mid-sentence, trail off, or begin speaking to others who were not in the room.
“There are things that have traumatized her," her mother Tricia defends. “I care deeply about my daughter and I want her to resume her life."
Voorhies, on the other hand, contests that her mother is simply “over-loving,” and insists that there is nothing wrong with her.
The actress insists that she is currently working in Indie projects as well as on a book which she will self-publish.
She tells People that her behavior is not odd, that they simply caught her in a moment of prayer as she is a very "spiritual" person.
Her former costars, Mark Paul-Gosselaar, Tiffani Amber Thiessen, Mario Lopez, Elizabeth Berkley and Dustin Diamond, have all moved on to other projects. Voorhies remains the only actress of the bunch who has not been seen publicly.
Gosselaar currently stars in the hit legal series, Franklin and Bash, Thiessen recently starred in White Collar, Lopez is a co-host for Extra and is also rumored to take on cohosting duties on X Factor with Khloe Kardashian.
Berkley became notorious for her role in Showgirls and has since taken on roles in CSI: Miami as well as The L Word and Diamond has a series of movies coming out next year, including Scavenger Hunters and College Fight Night.
