Madonna’s daughter, Lourdes, making plans to attend college in New York

Lourdes Leon, Madonna’s 16-year-old daughter with personal trainer Carols Leon, has reportedly been making plans to attend college this fall, despite objections from her superstar mother.

According to The Huffington Post, the pop icon’s daughter is rebelling against her mother’s wishes and looking for a way out of the spotlight into the classroom.

Perez Hilton reported that Lourdes insists on being so fiercely independent that she will pay for her tuition fees herself with the money that she made while working with her mom on her fashion line, Material Girl. A source revealed that the teenager has been looking for a way out of the 54-year-old singer’s shadow.

"Lourdes can't wait to leave home and get to university. She's already planned it all. Madonna is a strict parent, but Lourdes has been rebelling. She's also fed up being in the spotlight. That's why she didn't go on stage during Madonna's tour."

Although she is trying to establish an identity separate from her famed mother, she may not be straying too far from the family business. Lourdes has been making plans to attend Bard College in New York, studying performing arts.
