Matthew McConaughey looks sickly after dropping 30 lbs for Dallas Buyer's Club.
Us Weekly reported the 42-year old actor caused a stir when he was seen walking with his mom. The actor seemed to lean on his mother for support.
PEOPLE reported McConaughey told Larry King he should not look healthy after losing the weight, because the point of the movie is to look sickly.
He stated, "I'm playing a guy who was sick and would have loved to have been healthier but wasn't...I'll get down to the weight I need to get to. I'm on my way, and it's what I need to do for the job."
The Dallas Buyer's Club is a true story about a man who tries to buy experimental HIV drugs to prolong his life.
McConaughey told King he had changed his diet to drop down to the weight he needed to be at to play Ron Woodruff, a man suffering from AIDS.
McConaughey told King he was "drinking a lot of tea … It takes a while for your body to understand that it has to feed off of itself and that you're not going to give it something else from the outside.”
