Michael Bolton signs on to star in ABC comedy ‘Destroying My Life’

By Daniel S Levine,

Singer Michael Bolton already made an impression with his hilarious Saturday Night Live skit and recently did a guest stint on Two and a Half Men. He will next get a sitcom of his own, which is currently in development at ABC and is titled Michael Bolton’s Daughter is Destroying My Life.

According to Deadline, the project comes from Universal Cable Productions and Tagline and comes from the mind of Allison Miller. 30 Rock’s Tami Sagher will pen the pilot.

Miller, who currently co-stars with Matthew Perry on NBC’s Go On, based the project loosely on the first celebrity encounters she had when she arrived in Hollywood. However, she didn’t actually meet with Bolton until after the project started.

Destroying My Life will center on a young writer who decides to handle Bolton’s social media profiles, but finds that she has taken on more than she can chew when Bolton takes in his wild child daughter.

AceShowBiz notes that the series could take a similar tone to ABC’s Don’t Trust The B--- In Apt. 23, which features James Van Der Beek playing a fictional eccentric version of himself.

Miller will produce with Sagher, Willie Mercer, Ron West, J.B. Roberts and Kelly Kulchack executive producing.

In addition to Two and a Half Men and SNL, the Grammy-winning Bolton also appeared on Dancing with the Stars.
