Since Natalie Portman won her Oscar for Black Swan, the actress has attached to several projects in the works. In addition to two Terrence Malick projects and Thor: The Dark World, Portman is reportedly being considered for a Jackie Kennedy project.
Deadline is reporting that Fox Searchlight, which distributed Black Swan, is hoping that she will star in Jackie. The Noah Oppenheim-scripted project originally had Rachel Weisz attached, but she dropped out. Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky was also attached, but he left as well. Portman reportedly likes the script, but it all depends on who will direct it.
According to The Wrap, Portman is also being courted for Paramount’s Code Name Sasha, which is described as a female Training Day. Fox also likes her for Last Witness, which will be produced by Davis Entertainment.
Portman recently finished making Malick’s Knight of Cups and is currently working on another project with the To The Wonder director. In addition, she’s filming Thor: The Dark World.
While Portman’s participation in any of these projects won’t be confirmed until the studios officially announces it, one thing is for sure. Movie fans are going to be seeing a lot of Portman over the next few years.
