One Direction heartthrob, Niall Horan, underwent knee surgery after the pop sensation was attacked by a squirrel.
Although the situation may sound like a joke, Mr. Paparazzi reported that a run-in with a squirrel left the Irish singer on crutches.
According to The Sun, the 1D star has undergone an operation to repair torn ligaments in his knee.
Horan confirmed the incident saying, “A squirrel attacked me. I got attacked by a squirrel in Battersea Park. They're dangerous. It's rare.”
Despite the gravity of the situation, the 19-year-old star hasn’t lost his sense of humor. He joked around about he will no longer be able to play soccer and will probably have to retire.
“I've torn most of the ligaments in my knee. So no football for me. It's early retirement now. I've got a floating knee-cap!”
Although the pop star tweeted, “If ya see me hobblin around at teen awards! I'm sorry! Won't be as active as usual haahah,” he recovered enough to make an appearance without crutches alongside the other four members of One Direction on The X-Factor on Sunday night.
