CBS’ The Price Is Right has finally found its first male model. The longest-running game show in TV history will have Rob Wilson of Boston modeling with prizes for a week starting on Oct. 15.
Wilson was picked after the show launched a search for the first male model in August. The producers and the current female models judged hopefuls during open auditions on Aug. 30 and finalists were announced on the show on Sept. 28. Wilson, Clint Brink and Nick Denbeigh had reached the finals.
The network also included several webisodes to document the search on YouTube. Each hopeful had to write and sing new lyrics to show’s iconic theme, show excitement when being called to “come on down” and learn how to handle quick costume changes.
Fans were then asked to pick their favorites in an online poll from Sept. 28 to Thursday and Wilson came out on top, CBS said today in a press release.
Wilson will start his week-long gig on Monday, Oct. 15. The Price Is Right airs weekdays on CBS at 11am.
The show is currently hosted by Drew Carey.
