‘Psych’ season 7 premiere date announced

By Meaghan Fleming,

USA’s comedy about a fake psychic detective, Psych, is slated to return on February 27, 2013.

The premiere date was announced on the Psych Facebook page in a video message from cast members James Roday (Shawn), Dule Hill (Gus), Maggie Lawson (Juliet), and Tim Omundson (Lassiter).

According to Buddy TV, the season will have 16 episodes. It is unknown at this time if the season will air all 16 episodes in a row, or if it will air in two segments.

The latest season of Psych promises to be engaging for fans. The season will have the 100th episode, which is a milestone for any show, and a special two-hour musical episode.

The 100th episode has a Clue theme, based on the game and the movie. Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future), Martin Mull (Sabrina, the Teenage Witch) and Leslie Ann Warren (Victor Victoria), who all starred in the 1985 Clue movie will appear in the episode. Additionally, Garrett Morris (The Jamie Foxx Show), Steve Valentine (Crossing Jordan) and Tears for Fears member Curt Smith are guest starring.

As we previously reported, Anthony Michael Hall (The Breakfast Club) is guest starring as Harris Trout, a police consultant who shakes things up at the SBPD. He also does not believe in psychics, proving to be a problem for Shawn and Gus.

Parminder Nagra (ER) will recur this season as Gus’s girlfriend.

Season 7 premieres on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 10pm ET on USA.
