By Daniel Levine,

Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone are best remembered for their work in Oscar-winning boxing films and are set to put on the boxing gloves again in a comedy titled Grudge Match.

On Thursday, Deadline reported that De Niro and Stallone will star as boxers in the film, with comedian Kevin Hart playing a boxing promoter.

Warner Bros. has already greenlighted the project, which will be directed by 50 First Dates director Peter Segal. Tim Kelleher penned the script. The current draft was written by Entourage’s Doug Ellin. Billy Gerber, Mark Steven Johnson and Michael Ewing are producing.

Of course, Stallone and De Niro have boxed on the big screen before. Stallone shot to stardom with 1976’s Rocky, which won Best Picture and two other Oscars. Stallone earned nominations for his lead role and his original screenplay.

De Niro won his second of two Oscars for Martin Scorsese’s Raging Bull, which is widely considered one of the greatest sports films ever made. It was also nominated for Best Picture.

According to HitFix, De Niro’s next film is Silver Linings Playbook, which will be released later this year and is considered an Oscar contender. Stallone has two more action films coming in 2013 - Bullet to the Head and The Tomb.
