Ryan Murphy gets his wish, Bette Midler accepts offer to guest star on ‘Glee’

By Daniel S Levine,

Bette Midler has just accepted Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy’s offer to guest star on his hit Fox show.

BuddyTV reports that Murphy sent out a tweet Monday night, letting his followers know that he “just asked the incredible Bette Midler to be on Glee in front of 1,000 people. I hope she says yes!”

Just three hours later, he got his wish. “Bette said yes! Amazing. I am plotting...who should she play?”

In between, Midler tweeted, “And from the stage, @ryanmurphy invited me to guest on @Glee! I should get out more!!”

She later wrote, “Ok, @rpmurphy , I have one vote for Rachel's grandmother...hmmmm. I'm thinking, I'm thinking!!”

According to The Huffington Post, this isn’t the first time Murphy has asked a celebrity to star on Glee and got a “yes.” At the 2011 Golden Globes, he asked Anne Hathaway, who said she would like to appear on the show and had later decided that she wanted to be Kurt’s lesbian aunt. However, that never materialized.

Glee is currently in its fourth season and airs on Thursdays on Fox.
