Ryan Seacrest is speaking out about American Idol judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey, after the former gave Carey a big, expletive-filled piece of her mind while filming auditions in Charlotte, N.C. on Tuesday.
According to Us Weekly, things got heated on set when Minaj and Carey reached a difference of opinion. Apparently something caused the “Starships” singer to snap because she lashes out in a long rant, at one moment yelling, “I told them I’m not f**kin’ putting up with her f**king highness over there. Figure it the f**k out. Figure it out.”
And now Seacrest is opening up about the uncomfortable situation, admitting, “It got heated between Nicki and Mariah. It was intense! I’ll be honest with you. It went far last night. It did get intense.” But the host quickly added that this could be the kind of thing the show needs. “We want that! We want them to be on this panel together. This is a good team, a great team, to go out and look for the next American Idol . . . the feedback that they give is very good.”
According to E! News, Nick Cannon says that his wife, Mariah, isn’t concerned about the pop diva being able to hold her ground when it comes to a boiling feud. “I always say my wife is the strongest, classiest woman that I’ve ever met in any situation. I’m never concerned about her handling herself,” Cannon said. “My wife’s not moved by the theatrics or pageantry. She’s just there to do her job and help young people on this show that we’ve all grown to love.”
