Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have been selected to host the 70th annual Golden Globes on January 13, 2013.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and Dick Clark Productions made the announcement on Monday.

Paul Telegdy, president of alternative and late-night programming for NBC Entertainment released a statement saying, "Tina and Amy have a proven chemistry and comedic timing from their many years together on SNL.”

Reuters reports that the Golden Globes honors best TV shows, actors, and movies from the previous year. The Golden Globes is one of Hollywood's most prestigious award ceremonies, right alongside the Oscars, which will take place on February 24.

Hollywood Foreign Press President Aida Takla-O'Reilly released a statement published by The Hollywood Reporter stating the association's excitement for their new hosts.

HFPA President stated, “The HFPA is thrilled to have the magnetic duo be a part of the show’s 70th anniversary!”

The 70th annual Golden Globes will most likely honor TV personality Dick Clark who passed away this past April. Clark saved the awards show in the early 1980's when it lost its network deal.
