Beverly Hills police visited Tom Cruise’s Beverly Hills home Sunday night to respond to a reported burglary. However, it turned out that the reported prowler was just an intoxicated neighbor who stumbled onto the Mission: Impossible star’s property.
CBS Los Angeles reports that police were called to Cruise’s home after 8pm Sunday. A prowler was reportedly spotted and, at the time, police did not say if the person broke into the home. Police did tell CBS LA that a person was “detained” for trespassing.
According to the Associated Press, Lt. Lincoln Hoshino later told the City News Service that the prowler was an intoxicated neighbor. Cruise’s guard had used a stun gun when he saw the neighbor try to climb the fence.
The officer said that the man is 41-years-old and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of any injuries from the stun gun. The man was trying to get into his adjacent property.
Cruise, who was not home at the time, purchased the home earlier this year for over $30 million. The 10,000 square-foot property has seven bathrooms and nine bedrooms, plus a pool and hot tub.
Last week, Cruise filed lawsuits against tabloids that suggested he had abandoned Suri, his 6-year-old daughter with ex-wife Katie Holmes. The two split this summer.
