Parkland, the Tom Hanks-produced historical drama about the JFK assassination, will have an all-star cast which includes Paul Giamatti, Billy Bob Thorton and Jacki Weaver.
The Hollywood Reporter stated that the three actors signed on for the film, which Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman will produce alongside Exclusive Media, which will also finance the film.
"Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman are two exceptional producers with great taste so we are delighted to be collaborating with them on this fascinating film about such a significant chapter in American history," said Nigel Sinclair and Guy East, co-chairmen of Exclusive Media.
According to The Wrap, Peter Landesman adapted the screenplay from the book Reclaiming History: The Assassination of President John F. Kennedy by Vincent Bugliosi, and will make his directorial debut with the film.
The story of the film revolves around the events directly after the president was shot at Parkland Hospital in November 1963.
Parkland will be shot in Austin, TX and is projected for a 2013 release to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the assassination.
