Lars Von Trier, the strange mind behind Antichrist and Melancholia, is making a pornographic drama called Nymphomaniac, and Uma Thurman has just joined the cast.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film is currently shooting in Cologne, Germany.
The film follows a woman’s erotic journey from the time of her birth to age 50 when a man finds her beaten in an alley on a cold night. It will be primarily told in flashbacks as the woman recounts her life to the man.
Besides Thurman, the cast includes Charlotte Gainsbourg, Stellan Skarsgard, Shia LaBeouf, Jamie Bell, Stacy Martin, Connie Nielsen and Christian Slater.
ComingSoon.net says that a soft core and a hard core version of the film will be released some point in 2013. It is safe to assume that this will not be a movie to take the family to.
Uma Thurman’s role in the film is, as of now, unspecified. The actress will be seen next in Playing for Keeps, a comedy being released December 7.
