Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson’s ‘The Internship’ release date moved up three weeks

By Daniel S Levine,

Shawn Levy’s The Internship, which re-teams Wedding Crashers stars Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson, has been moved up three weeks.

According to Deadline, the comedy from the Night at the Museum director will now be released by 20th Century Fox on June 7, 2013. This will ensure that it is the first original comedy of the summer, placing it two weeks after The Hangover Part III opens on May 24.

That also gives it a week before Seth Rogen and Jonah Hill’s comedy The End of the World and Zack Snyder’s highly anticipated Superman film, Man of Steel. Also opening later that month will be Disney/Pixar’s Monsters University, Brad Pitt’s World War Z, Kick Ass 2 and White House Down. Clearly, that month is going to be very busy at the box office.

The Internship will still share the June 7 weekend with After Earth, M. Night Shyamalan's sci-fi film with Will Smith and his son, Jaden. The thriller Now You See Me also opens that weekend.

Collider reports that other films to get new dates this week include Paranoia (Oct. 4, 2013), Dead Man Down (March 8, 2013), Dark Skies (Feb. 22, 2013) and Admission (March 8, 2013).
