‘The Voice’ Recap 10/23

By Lydia Underwood,

Last night on The Voice, it was the last night of battles and the last chance for the coaches to secure their teams. Christina was the only judge with the ability to steal someone. The other judges used both of their steals during the previous battles.

Let the final battles begin:

Adriana Louise vs Jordan Pruitt start. If you remember, Adriana was a powerhouse, wow-ing all 4 judges, before selecting Christina as her coach. Jordan was the former Disney star who wanted to make a name for herself outside of Disney.

Christina selected the song “Hot N Cold” by Katy Perry. During the first rehearsal, Jordan had the edge. Christina said she felt Adriana was holding back.

After an awesome battle, Christina had to make a decision.
Adriana wins!

Next, from Blake’s team, we had two of the youngest performers on the show. 15 year old Kelly Crapa vs 16 year old Michaela Paige. We saw that Kelly likes to sing for benefits, such as Relay for Life. Michaela hosts a radio show in Florida. Blake selected the song “I Hate Myself for Loving You” by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.

At first, Michaela seemed to have the edge because Kelly was so timid. However, Kelly, in the final rehearsal, stepped it up. After a very even performance, Blake had a tough choice. Michaela wins!

Next up, it was Cee-Lo’s team. 16 year old Avery Wilson vs 26 year old Chevonne. During the first rehearsal, Chevonne belted the song and seemed to scare Avery! When it was his turn to hit the high note, he faltered. During the final rehearsal, Avery was much improved. Cee-Lo said he just has to stay consistent during the battle. The battle was intense, both singers giving it their all. Avery wins!

Christina, however, goes for the steal! Chevonne is now on team Christina.

Next week comes the Knockout rounds, where the teams will be cut in half. Stay tuned!
