ABC’s 666 Park Avenue and Last Resort are the latest shows to get the ax.
E! News reports that although the show will not get a return date, all 13 episodes of the programs will air before getting the final ax. Nashville and The Neighbors are the only series to maintain their full seasons as ordered.
According to Variety, the reasoning behind Last Resort’s cancelation is in the numbers. Thursday evening's showing brought it only 1.3 rating and 5.8 million viewers. The show is up against tough competition as it airs in the eight o’clock hour against The Big Bang Theory and the results show of X Factor.
Additionally, this is reportedly the fourth-straight season that ABC has failed to deliver a solid prime-time lineup; Ugly Betty was moved from the 8 o’clock time slot and since, ABC has not maintained viewers in that time slot.
In October, we reported that Private Practice would also not return for a seventh season.
Before the fall season even got started, Rob, CSI: Miami and Unforgettable were also cancelled.
