ABC airing Charlie Brown’s Thanksgiving is a tradition on the night before Thanksgiving, but for whatever reason, the special brought in the most amount of viewers in four years.
According to EW, the special beat out Fox’s X Factor and CBS’ Survivor last night, drawing in 8.1 million viewers and a 2.2 rating in the adult demo.
The special also beat out its own airing from last year by a whopping 22 percent.
However, Charlie Brown’s Thanksgiving isn’t even the most popular Charlie Brown installment. A Charlie Brown Christmas and It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown always perform better than the Thanksgiving special.
TV By the Numbers reports that ABC beat out NBC’s all original schedule for Wednesday night with the airing of the festive special.
Furthermore, the television event saw its best Kids aged 2-11 number in almost five 5 years.
The network then aired back-to-back repeat episodes of their Emmy-winning hit Modern Family and beat out NBC, CBS and Fox.
