During last night’s The Voice, Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine went on an odd rant, going after the West Hollywood club Roxy, complaining about how they didn’t give the band a dressing room in their early days.
Levine was reminded of the band’s early days when Cassadee Pope performed Michelle Branch’s “Are You Happy Now?” While Levine praised the performance, it reminded him of an apparently traumatic time at the Roxy.
“We used to open for Michelle Branch,” he said, reports The Los Angeles Times. “I remember we opened for her at the Roxy, and they didn't even give us a dressing home. I hate the Roxy. I'll never play there again.”
“I love the Roxy,” Pope replied, but Levine wouldn’t stop.
“Oh, the Roxy is horrible,” he said. “Don't ever go there.”
“They screwed us over,” he continued. “And now they're paying for it.”
The Roxy enjoyed the publicity, though, sending out a tweet with an image of its marquee, which reads, “Adam Levine your dressing room is ready.”
Also during The Voice, Levine and 50 Cent performed the rapper’s latest song, “My Life.” The video for the song debuted on MTV Tuesday.
