Actress Anne Hathaway confirmed that she will have a role in Steven Spielberg’s upcoming film Robopocalypse.
"If Robopocalypse happens I will be in it," the actress, 30, told Empire. "and I believe it’s quite real, though you never want to hang your hat on anything."
Hathaway did not elaborate on her role in the film, but she did reveal what led her to become attached to the project.
"Whenever I’m taking time off, I always joke to my team that I’m on vacation unless Steven Spielberg calls. And I was on vacation and Spielberg called. So I was like, ‘OK, put my money where my mouth is’,” she said.
The film, based on the novel by Daniel H. Wilson, tells the story of a future where robots rule over humanity.
Inquisitr reported that the movie has a tentative release date of April 25, 2014.
Hathaway will co-star with Chris Hemsworth and Ben Whishaw.
She recently hosted Saturday Night Live and will soon be seen in the big-screen version of the musical Les Miserables, which will open in theaters Christmas Day.
Spielberg is currently getting Oscar buzz for his film Lincoln, which stars Daniel Day-Lewis as the 16th U.S. President.
