It was announced on Thursday that Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi, both of whom are from New Jersey, will join the line-up for the NBC benefit concert to aid victims of Hurricane Sandy on Friday night.
The concert will be a one-hour commercial-free telethon. Reuters reports that the benefit will air on all NBC Universal networks including, Bravo, CNBC, E!, Syfy, USA and Style. It will also air live on NBC.com.
Bon Jovi cancelled his plans to be with his family and returned home to New Jersey on Thursday to attend the benefit.
“Once again, the eyes of the world are upon us as we take the devastation of Hurricane Sandy. Once again we will have hurdles to clear and challenges we will have to face. When patience is lost...when it seems helpless...when you are in need and you feel as if you’re alone...know you are not alone,” wrote Jon Bon Jovi in a statement.
The Washington Postreports that Christina Aguilera, Sting, Jimmy Fallon, and NBC anchor Brian Williams will also be attending the event. “Today” show anchor, Matt Lauer, will host the concert.
The benefit will air tomorrow night, Friday, at 8pm ET.
