Bobby Brown pleads not guilty to October DUI charge

By Daniel S Levine,

Bobby Brown was arrested for DUI last month and pleaded not guilty to the charge on Friday. It was his second DUI arrest of 2012 and third overall.

As we previously reported, Brown was arrested after driving erratically in Los Angeles. He then failed a breathalyzer and other field tests.

According to TMZ, he was also charged with driving with a restricted license and driving without a vehicle interlock device, which is a breathalyzer that would have stopped his car from starting.

Brown put in the not guilty plea today.

Brown was previously arrested for DUI back in March and was put on probation, which was revoked after he was arrested in October. His license was suspended. He was also ordered to attend AA meetings.

However, the judge still released him on his own recognizance after today’s hearing. He will be back in court next month.

Brown, who had been married to the late Whitney Houston and is the father of her only daughter, had also checked into rehab in August. He married his manager, Alicia Etheredge, in June.

“Mr. Brown takes his agreement very seriously and admitted himself three weeks after concluding his honeymoon in Mexico during a break from the New Edition tour,” his attorney said in August. “Bobby is doing well and receiving services that comply with his agreement with the State of California.”

Brown’s first arrest for DUI came in 1996.
