Britney Spears' parents file to dismiss battery and breach of contract suit

By Sarah Burbank-Douglas,

Britney Spears’ parents, Jamie and Lynne, may have found the light at the end of the tunnel in their emotionally grueling lawsuit with former ex-manager Sam Lutfi as the pop singer's parents have filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit of breach of contract and battery.

E! News reports that Lutfi’s team rested their case yesterday, and currently Jamie and Lynne are filing to a petition to dismiss the claims, saying that the “Toxic” singer never gave "reciprocal assent" to give Lutfi the 15 percent he claims is owed to him.

As for the physical battery claims, the petition states that Lutfi "has not presented clear and convincing evidence that Jamie Spears acted either with intent to injure him."

Spears’ former nanny has come forward to state that the claims that Lutfi is suing for are completely false. Leah Frand, her former nanny, told TMZ last week that Jamie never laid a hand on Lutfi.

According to E!, on Thursday a judge ruled in favor of Jamie and Lynne Spears and dismissed the entire case.

"I really thought long and hard, so the motions are granted...as to all the defendants and all the causes of action. That is the right thing to do, so I am going to do it," Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Suzanne Brugera explained.
