Carly Rae Jepsen talks fame: ‘I don't want to be Cinderella for a night. I want to be Cinderella for life’

By April Chieffo,

Carly Rae Jepsen went from average struggling popstar to superstar over night. Due to her catchy single, “Call Me Maybe” and being taken under Justin Bieber’s wing, the 27-year-old has earned huge success.

Jepsen appears on the cover of Cosmopolitan magazine and reveals that when it comes to being successful, being a huge star isn’t what’s important to her, it’s the opportunity she’s been given to do what she loves as a job.

"For me, the goal of music has never been 'I need to be the biggest superstar in the world.' It was 'I want to spend my life doing this, and I want to make a career that I can live off of so I don't have to tend bar and waitress to make this fly,'" she said, according to Us Weekly. "I don't want to be Cinderella for a night. I want to be Cinderella for life."

With that, her Cinderella story can be credited to Justin Bieber who gave her a big push. She’ll be forever grateful for that.

According to Entertainmentwise she said of 18-year-old Bieber, "I'm forever indebted to him for the lovely boost that he's given me."
