At the Country Music Association Awards last night, hosts Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley had a little fun with Taylor Swift’s song “We Are Never Getting Back Together,” even poking fun at her recent split with Conor Kennedy.
Underwood started off the bit by telling the audience "Brad and I were backstage talking about what a strange year this has been," with Paisley pointing out that a lot has happened in the world of sports but he “can’t keep track of all these trades.”
“The greatest trade of the year had to be the Kennedy family. They somehow traded Arnold Schwarzenegger for Taylor Swift," Paisley joked, People reports. "I mean, what they got for that ..."
Underwood then stopped him, whispering in his ear. She presumably told him about Kennedy and Swift’s breakup, to which he said "What? Why don't I ever hear about these things? I'm the last one to know.”
"Are they ever gonna get back together?" asked Paisley, and Underwood then replied by joking about Swift’s song. "Never," she said, "Never ever,” which she said many times over.
Meanwhile, Blake Shelton came out as the big winner of the night, winning three awards.
