CBS staging two-hour ‘CSI’ and ‘CSI: NY’ crossover

By Daniel S Levine,

Next year, CBS’ CSI franchise will come together for a two-hour crossover episode, bringing Ted Danson and Gary Sinise together.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the crossover will start with the CSI episode on Wednesday, Feb. 6. Sinise’s Detective Mac Taylor takes a trip to Las Vegas to surprise his girlfriend (Megan Dodds), but finds out she’s missing. He works with D.B. Russell’s (Danson) team in Vegas to find her.

In the second hour, airing on Friday, Feb. 8, Russell heads to New York to work with Taylor’s CSI: NY team to find out if Taylor’s girlfriend is still alive, reports TV Guide.

CBS certainly enjoys crossovers with its police procedurals. Last season, NCIS: LA and Hawaii Five-0 came together. In 2009, all three CSI shows, including the now-cancelled CSI: Miami crossed over.

Last month, TV Guide reported that CSI: NY’s writers are working on a big season finale in case this is the show’s last year. It could possibly end with Taylor marrying his girlfriend.

“We are evolving his relationship so that it could get there,” executive producer Pam Veasey said.

“The stage has been set for something special to happen,” Sinise added.
