Colbie Caillat helps design her dress for Sunday evenings American Music Awards

By Sarah Burbank-Douglas,

Colbie Caillat can not only sing like an angel, the girl has a fantastic sense of fashion.

The “Falling for You” singer donned a floor-length, grey gown with deep cut cleavage which she helped designer Anthony Franco create. "It’s a dress my stylist Anthony Franco designed with me,” Colbie gushed to In Style. “I had a dress, but it didn’t look right…We were exploring different ideas and I said, ‘Oh! Can we make one?!’

And the result is stunning. The singer was reportedly still making the final touches Sunday afternoon, with the awards ceremony only hours away. “With the AMAs, it’s all about being you, it’s about representing yourself.”

Colbie took to the AMA’s to present with Gavin DeGraw. Colbie has since been tweeting her way through the awards, keeping her 285,000 plus followers in the loop. From “Pulling up to the red carpet,” preparing to “interview Andy Grammar,” the singer also noted she was sitting behind Will.i.am of the Black Peas.

Fans need not worry, although she enjoyed the process of designing the dress, she isn’t planning on giving up her career as a sensational singer. “I’d love to get into designing, but right now I’m singing.”
