Derek Hough said winning 'Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars' would've been a 'perfect ending'

By Gina DiFalco,

Derek Hough has been fueling rumors that he’s leaving Dancing with the Stars in various interviews, and on the finale of the All Stars season, he said in one of his last segments that winning the mirror ball trophy would’ve been the “perfect ending.”

As it turns out, he and partner Shawn Johnson didn’t win, Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovaloni did. But Hough talked to Today.com last night and revealed that he “can’t say right now,” whether or not this was his last season.

When doing the last dance of the season, however, Hough said he got emotional.

“I was shocked at how I reacted and was sort of overwhelmed. I could barely speak to be honest. All the memories of the show, the people I’ve met and how amazing this family is (overwhelmed me.) I couldn’t describe the feeling," he explained.

If he decides not to come back, Hough was asked what he would be doing and he said “There is so much more I want to do. It’s just about (finding) the next chapter.”

He did promise, though, “I will always want to be a part of the show in some way.”

As we previously reported, Hough did call the DWTS: All-Stars “kind of my swan song," saying, "It's my last hurrah."
