Disney Channel's 'Boy Meets World' spin-off 'Girls Meets World' will not include Rider Strong

By Slater Katz,

The Disney Channel spin-off Girl Meets World of the '90s show Boy Meets World has the world jumping out of their school desks in anticipation! It has been confirmed that Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel, who played Cory and Topanga, will return with their daughter as the star of the show. But the question haunting die-hard fans is whether the rest of the gang will be back.

Sadly, Rider Strong, who played Cory’s main-man Shawn in the show, will not be returning.

“I am extremely happy for Ben and Danielle to be able to continue the story. At this point, I have no official involvement in Girl Meets World,” wrote Strong on his website, The Strong Brothers Magic Show.

With the absence of Strong, it appears the cast may be worried about the shows success. Fishel wrote on her Tumblr, “GMW is a new show. It isn’t BMW brought back to life but in current day. . . . Give us a chance.”

Strong agrees saying, “But Girl Meets World will be, and I think it should be, its own show.”

According to Thestar.com, Strong hopes to return in a “guest spot.”
