By Meaghan Fleming,

Disney Channel is in the initial stage of development on a sequel to the ABC’s sitcom Boy Meets World which is currently titled Girl Meets World.

According to TV Line Disney Channel is trying to get Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel to join the show and reprise their roles as Cory and Topanga. The couple married before the sitcom ended.

Girl Meets World is set to focus on Cory and Topanga’s preteen daughter.

Boy Meets World focused on the life of Cory Matthews. Fans watched him grow up, go through high school, and marry the love of his life, Topanga Lawrence.

The show aired on ABC from 1993-2000 for seven seasons. There are a total of 158 episodes of the show.

The Hollywood Reporter says the executive producer of Boy Meets World, Michael Jacobs is casting the new series.

Zap2It reports it is unknown if Cory’s best friend Shawn, played by Ryder Strong and his brother Eric, played Will Friedle, are being considered for roles in the new show. It is hard to picture the show without them, or everyone's favorite teacher, Mr. Feeny, played by William Daniels.
