Hunger Games actress Elizabeth Banks and husband Max Handelman welcomed their second son via gestational surrogate.
Banks and sports writer husband Max have been married since 2003. The blonde beauty has stared in several films from 40 Year Old Virgin to the box office hit, The Hunger Games. Currently, Banks is gearing up to bring Effie back for the highly anticipated sequel, Catching Fire.
Banks expressed her excitement via her website saying, “Nothing can match the joy and excitement my husband and I felt when we recently welcomed our second baby boy, Magnus Mitchell Handelman. Magnus joins older brother Felix, thus commencing a decade or more of close hand to hand combat,” she writes.
She added, “Like Felix, Magnus was born via gestational surrogate. This experience has exceeded all expectations, taught us a great deal about generosity and gratitude, and established a relationship that will last a lifetime. I am also so very thankful to our family and friends for their support throughout this process, as well as the Center for Surrogate Parenting for helping make all this possible.”
Banks also revealed the news to her 987,000 Twitter followers.
