Elmo sings 'Nothing's gonna bring us down' at Thanksgiving Parade (Video)

By Sarah Burbank-Douglas,

Elmo made his loveable return to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Thursday morning and the red monster, whose voice actor has been the center of controversy, sang “What I Am” while traveling down the streets of Manhattan.

TMZ reports that Elmo, along with the rest of the Sesame Street crew took to the parade singing joyfully, "I'm gonna keep my head up high / keep on reaching high / Never gonna quit / Just keep getting stronger."

Elmo’s solo included the line, “Nothing’s gonna bring us down.”

Questions surrounding Elmo’s fate arose this week after a second man, Cecil Singleton, came forward accusing Kevin Clash of statutory rape.

Clash has since resigned from his position as the puppeteer for Elmo, a position he has held for roughly three decades.

PBS is currently staggering to find a voice similar to that of Clash’s so as not to confuse young viewers.
