Two more contestants left Dancing With The Stars: All-Stars Tuesday night, setting the show up for an all-female finale.
During Monday’s episode, Olympic speed skater Apolo Ohno and Karina Smirnoff earned a 57 for their rumba. That score was not enough to keep them on the show and they were the first eliminated.
Football great Emmitt Smith and partner Cheryl Burke tied for the lowest score of the night, with 54 of 60 points from the judges for their tango. The team was the next to go.
“How much more could I have done?” Smith told Entertainment Weekly as he tried to stay positive after the elimination. “I mean, I did 23 ½ hours of work last week. I mean, [should I have done] 25, 30? 40? A broken ankle? A broken toe? Messed up back? Laying it on the line, I think that’s what each and every one of these dancers has done and she’s [partner Burke] been there by my side the whole entire time so I think we pushed the limits.”
He also praised Bruke, adding, “There’s only so much I can do and she’s done great. She’s been excellent to work with.”
“This competition has been hard from the beginning,” Ohno said after the show, reports People. “It's a been a blessing.”
Their elimination means that next week’s finale will feature all female stars, including Shawn Johnson, Melissa Rycroft and Kelly Monaco.
DWTS airs on ABC on Mondays and Tuesdays.
