Francis Lawrence will Direct the Final Movies in 'The Hunger Games' Series

While filming for the second The Hunger Games installment has just started, the details are being hammered out for the last two movies of the series.

According to USA Today, Lionsgate announced that Francis Lawrence will direct The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 and Part 2.

The Wall Street Journal says that, Mockingjay Part 1 is set for a release in November 2014, and the final movie, Mockingjay Part 2 will be released in November 2015.

Gary Ross directed the first movie, The Hunger Games, but soon cut ties with the series. The Wall Street Journal says that the first movie, “grossed more than $686.5 million world-wide.”

Francis Lawrence’s film credits include movies such as Water for Elephants and I Am Legend. He is working on the second installment of the series, Catching Fire now. That movie is set to be released on November 22, 2013.
