Game of Thrones has been pretty quiet in the off season, but now we have an official date of when the show will return and a short teaser clip to hold us over.
According to ComingSoon.net, the third season will follow the third novel in George R.R. Martin’s fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire, titled A Storm of Swords.
The book will supposedly be split into two seasons, concluding in season four.
IGN says that HBO aired the teaser for season three Sunday night.
The clip features a vague voiceover that spells doom and gloom for our friends across the kingdoms.
The second season was very well received and received numerous Emmy nominations including Outstanding Drama Series and Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for Peter Dinklage, who won the year before. He plays Tyrion on the series, a fan favorite character.
Game of Thrones premieres on Sunday March 31, 2013. Be sure to check out the teaser clip below.
