‘Grimm’ Recap: The Hour of Death

By Freda Eang,

Tossing and turning in his sleep, Nick wakes up from seeing images of a girl that has gone missing. Not looking too sharp this week, Nick looks distraught and frustrated. Juliette quickly tells him that she’s going out, but before she leaves Nick admits to not being happy about sleeping in the living room couch in his own home. Juliette tells him that they will talk about the matter later before dashing out the door.

Back at the station, a Wesen in suspect is brought into the interrogation room. Nick and Hank are interrogating, but they don’t get much out of the guy. Possibly overwhelm with everything at home and the missing girls case, Nick gets a little hostile towards the suspect. He reveals himself to the Wesen as being a Grimm and the guy goes all berserk in the station, “If anything happens to me, he’s responsible,” he says pointing at Nick.

Renard witnesses the whole scene from his office and immediately calls Juliette to ask about Nick. Oh yeah that’s the only reason right? Juliette admits to Renard that things haven’t been too great as of late at home and Renard takes this chance to ask her out for coffee. She agrees and the two meet up. During their talk, Juliette strangely spills her heart out to Renard, claiming that Nick to her now is just a stranger and there are just no feelings between them anymore.

When Renard takes Juliette back home and bids her goodbye, he takes the initiative to kiss Juliette before leaving. The kiss triggers Juliette’s memory of the kiss at the hospital and she ends up pulling Renard in for another kiss before realizing what she was doing and stopping abruptly in her actions to close the door.

Switching back to Nick, he heads over to the trailer before heading over to the Wesen’s home. As he gets there, he finds the Wesen dead and tortured in the basement. Before having a chance to take a better look as to what happened to the guy, Hank and the rest of the police arrive at the scene. Hank although suspicious of Nick tells him to lose the crossbow before the other cops arrive. When they go down to the basement again, they realized that the Wesen has been branded with a “G”and after some research, Nick and Hank suspect that there’s another Grimm in town. Fortunately, it was not the case as the intern Ryan was only a Wesen that was obsessed with being a Grimm. How did he get to intern at the police station in the first place?

Final Thoughts: Nick’s and Juliette’s relationship is definitely taking a hit as Renard has made his move. I wonder how Nick will react when he realizes his captain is the guy that is vying for Juliette’s affections. It makes me wonder why Nick was so off the edge this week; hopefully he’ll be back to his happy demeanor next week. Not much of Monroe this week as well, but exciting events is coming up. Adalind is back! Thoughts on this week’s episode?

Grimm airs Fridays at 10pm on NBC.
